From the President-- Andrew Fass

AVF Relocates Office Headquarters

After 13 years at our current location in Northern Baltimore City, AVF has outgrown its space and is moving to a 6,000 square foot office in Towson, MD.  Although the new office provides room to grow, AVF’s 17 employees will easily maximize the space which includes a professional conference and training center.  We plan to offer more training sessions that include basic and intermediate Navision functionality, as well as sessions for specialty needs like payroll and HR, Navision for Financial Controllers and Key User classes.

In addition to relocating just a few miles north of downtown Baltimore, AVF is excited about other changes to our business.  We are adding more capabilities by becoming certified resellers of both Microsoft CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and RMS (Retail Management Solutions).  We are also adding a .NET specialist to our staff, which will allow AVF to create strong solutions that fit our customers’ needs and match their budgets.  AVF also continuously investigates the latest third party Navision add-ons such as Field Service Management and Project Pro, so that we can offer our customers solutions that answer their most pressing business needs.  Our goal is to provide our customers with better service, more choices, and superior support.

AVF’s projected move date is Friday, December 5th.  We will take emergency support calls on that day and plan to have our operations running at 100% by Monday, December 8th.  AVF’s new address as of December 5, 2003 is:

AVF Consulting

1220 East Joppa Road

Building C, Suite 514

Towson, MD 21286

Phone:  410-296-5100 (Will be ready by December 15. Use 410-889-3400 until then.)

We are planning an open house in early 2004, so that everyone can see our new digs.  We look forward to seeing you then!

Microsoft Navision Sales Boost Microsoft Revenues:  Global Partner Manager for Microsoft Business Solutions, Kati Hvidtfeldt, announced that sales of Navision were primarily responsible for the increase in sales of Microsoft Business Solutions for the first quarter ending September 30, 2003. The announcement was made at Microsoft’s annual Worldwide Partner Conference, October 9-11. Revenues were up to $128 million, an increase of 21% over last years’ $106 million.  AVF attributes Navision’s market dominance to its superior functionality and ability to meet the needs of many industries.

Tips & Tricks

Making List Form Headers Easier to Read

There is an easy way to make the headers of all your List Forms larger or smaller and easier to read.  For simplicity's sake, I'll use a blank "Teams" card from "Relationship Management".

  1. To adjust the header of any List Form, move your cursor to the bottom line of the first blank, gray block on the left (see image below).  Your cursor will change from an arrow to a plus sign with an arrow on the top and bottom.

  1. Left click your mouse and drag the line up or down to make the Header bigger or smaller.

You can also adjust the size of the rows beneath the headers.

  1. Place your cursor on any line between the gray bars in the left column under the header row.  Left click the mouse and drag the line up or down to adjust the rows to the appropriate size.

The result is larger rows to read more details or smaller rows to fit more rows on your screen.

Product Spotlight

“The Collections Management Solution” Add-On for Microsoft Navision

The Collections Management Solution helps users track and collect overdue accounts and manage the collections process more effectively than they could using ANY existing procedures.  If you have difficulties or concerns with overdue accounts, this inexpensively priced add-on can help you reduce your company’s receivables by 5% to 15%.

Not sure if you need this product?  Take a few minutes to answer the questions below and find out if you are a candidate for The Collections Management Solution!

  1. Do you have some concerns about overdue accounts?
  2. What is the value of your current receivables?
  3. What is your current revenue run rate?
  4. Calculate the Days Outstanding ({AR Balance/Revenue} x 365).
  5. Compare this against your normal payment terms (30 days?).
  6. Estimate by how much the “Days Outstanding” can be reduced just by making customers realize that they will be called if they let invoices become outstanding for an excessive length of time.
  7. Calculate the cash flow that will result in lowering “Days Outstanding” by "x" days ({Days Reduction/Current Days Outstanding} x AR Balance.

The result is how much you might be able to save.

The system is easy to use and can often be set up very quickly.  Specific benefits include:

¾      An immediate reduction in Accounts Receivable balances.

¾      Instant identification of overdue invoices.

¾      Assignment of collection responsibility to named individuals within your firm.

¾      Utilization of built-in Contact Manager to track and resolve each outstanding invoice.

¾      Comprehensive management oversight functions.

This product retails for $3,500.  To learn more about The Collections Management Solution, please sign up for our seminar on Thursday, January 22 at 10:30am by contacting Karen Tran at ktran@avfconsulting.com.  For a personal demo, please contact Jeremy Fass at jfass@avfconsulting.com or 410-889-3400.
