Tips & Tricks

Don’t forget to clear your filters!

Have you ever found yourself conducting a query in Navision, only to find that you can’t seem to access a comprehensive list of the data?  If you have set any filters since opening Navision, they will affect all queries until they are removed.  Check to see if “Filter” appears in the bottom menu bar of Navision.   To clear a filter, click the “Show All” button in the top menu bar.

Line Allocations for Serenic Navigator 3.60

In previous versions of Serenic, line allocations for purchases were accessed while on the purchase document and clicking on the Line button, then Allocations. This required re-typing the same allocation information over and over again as it was not stored anywhere. You simply created the allocations for a particular purchase document line, posted the document, and repeated this procedure again the next time.

In efforts to make the Serenic product more powerful and user-friendly, they have changed the line allocations to actually come from a reusable setup! This allows you to configure a combination of one or more allocation lines under an allocation setup. Now, when allocating a line for a purchase document, you no longer have to click the Line button, then Allocations, but simply enter the appropriate value in the Allocation No. field that now exists directly on the purchase document line. You may have to do a “Show Column” to see the new field.

So, every time you need to allocate a purchase document line, you simply pick from the list of pre-setup allocations.

The Line Allocation setup is accessed from the G/L Menu, Setup, Allocations, Line Allocation. This will present you with the Line Allocations setup card form. Setup is very similar to the way you setup allocations previously, but you now group the lines under a “header”, which is identified by the Allocation No.

This same functionality also works for various journal lines.
