AVF Hires New COO
Robin A. Carter

AVF Consulting is very excited to announce the hiring of Robin A. Carter as our new Chief Operating Officer. After a lengthy search, we found that Robin provided the right mix of personality, experience, strategic insight and technical knowledge that we have been looking for.

“I am very happy to join AVF’s management team,” says Carter.  “As a recent AVF client, I realize the valuable service that AVF provides and I am excited to help AVF develop their processes as they streamline the organization. I also realize the value of the customer. By driving efficiencies within AVF, I believe we will be able to provide a stronger value to the customer.”

Robin comes to AVF from Warner Construction where she served as Senior V.P. of Finance & Administration since 1990. Warner has been a Microsoft Dynamics NAV customer of AVF’s since 1997 and Robin has been instrumental in helping Warner grow the business to their current size of 52 employees. With her experience in the professional services arena and her knowledge of NAV and Jet Reports, we know that Robin will be a strong leader at AVF.

“The goal of the COO position is to speed up the pace at which AVF is moving toward our strategic goals, while continuing to provide our customers with the same high level of quality service and support that we have always strived for,” says Andrew Fass, President of AVF Consulting.  “We’ve experienced a steady growth of 15-20% each year for the past several years.  The COO position will help to manage our continued growth.”

Robin started working at AVF in late April on a part-time basis and we look forward to the start of her full-time tenure in mid-June.  All of the departments within the operations side of the business will report to Robin, including Implementation, Development, .Net Development, IT and Customer Care.

Dave Opdahl's Jet Reports Corner

Don't Let that License Lapse!

It might seem like an easy thing to forget. After all, your current version of Jet Reports is working fine and it will continue to do so even if you don’t update your license. So what do you have to lose? A lot, actually.

Your Jet license entitles you to any and all upgrades that Jet publishes during the period covered by the license. If you allow your license to lapse, you can continue to use Jet for as long as you want, but you will forego the opportunity to have it do even more for you.

For example, the Jet version 7 (currently available in beta only) will offer the following improvements:

• Excel 2007 Compatible: Added an Office 2007 style "Jet" Ribbon with improved graphics, tips, and usability.

• Windows Vista Compatible: Earned Microsoft's "Works with Vista" certification.

• Added the Data Source Configuration Wizard: Guides you through the process of establishing a connection to your Navision database.

• Improved the Jet Reports Activation Wizard: Activates the appropriate Jet Reports Add-In depending on your version of Excel and simplifies licensing.

• Added the Data Source "Quick Switch": Switch your data source and company with ease from the Jet toolbar or ribbon.

• Added the Navision Budget Upload Tool: Create budgets in a Jet Report and upload them to your Navision database.
