Bill Gates Presents at Convergence 2006,

Microsoft's Premier Customer Event

Convergence 2006, Microsoft's customer conference, will be held in Dallas, Texas on March 25-28th this year.  Bill Gates, chairman and chief software architect of Microsoft Corporation will kick off the event as the keynote speaker.

Convergence is a great opportunity for you to participate in an exceptional Microsoft event with a variety of speakers, detailed Navision demonstrations, and in-depth learning sessions.

This year, Convergence will feature over 100 sessions including 15 that focus specifically on Navision and its functionality.  Visit www.msconvergence.com/content/sessions.aspx to view the Navision sessions.  These sessions will give Navision users the opportunity to interact with peers in their industry and provide feedback to the Navision thought leaders.

Some additional opportunities presented at Convergence 2006 will be:

  • The Microsoft Technical Support Desk will offer assistance in solving the issues that customers experience.
  • Take advantage of one-on-one training with solution experts during Hands-On Labs. New this year: twice as many hands-on labs and tripled seating capacity!
  • Visit the User Experience Lounge to see new technologies in action and provide your feedback directly to the Microsoft product development team.
  • Structured Networking/RIO will allow for scheduled meetings with your solution provider, like AVF, and Microsoft team members.
  • Extended Expo Hall hours will provide additional time to explore the Microsoft product pavilion and view the products offered by Microsoft partners.
  • The Community Lounge will offer a comfortable environment for networking and knowledge sharing.
  • Browse the Conference Store for Microsoft-branded gift items.
  • All attendees will receive a Convergence DVD set with streaming media presentation files of all general and concurrent sessions.

Sign up before January 28th to receive $300 off the regular admission price of $1,395.  Microsoft is also offering special rates for groups and returning Convergence attendees.  For more information about the price of admission, where to stay in Dallas and how to sign up, visit http://mbs.microsoft.com/public/convergence/.

Convergence has proven to be an exceptional tool for Microsoft customers around the world.  AVF strongly encourages all who can attend to do so.

Tip or Trick

How to Determine the Purpose of a Field in Navision

Have you ever wondered about the function or purpose of a Navision field? Out of the box Navision has no "useless" fields.  You can use the “What's this?” (Shift+F1) Help.

Click the "question mark" button on the toolbar, and then click the field of interest. Navision Help will display the corresponding Help topic and give a description of the field and its related topics. Not everything will be clear at once, but it may give some understanding.

In the following example we are looking up the field recurring method.  The help result is displayed below.
