The User Group Meeting will take place at our offices in Towson, Maryland. Agenda:
The event is free for CCP members and $125 per person for non-CCP customers. Lunch will be provided. We hope our customers will take advantage of this opportunity to get the most out of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV purchase. We often get requests from customers wishing to run a report in NAV and open it using Excel. Saving the report in HTML makes this possible. Opening a NAV Report with Excel (using "Save As HTML") NOTE: You must use Excel 2007 in order for this to work. 1. Run the report and select Preview 2. When the report has completely generated, press File and select "Save As HTML"
3. Save the HTML file to your Desktop 4. Go to your Desktop and double click on the HTML file
5. Highlight the URL of the HTML file, press Ctrl+C to place the location of the file in your copy buffer 6. Open Excel 2007 7. Select the "Data" tab
8. Press the "From Web" button
9. Press Ctrl+V in the Address field (this will copy the path to the HTML file). Press the Go button to view the HTML file. Depending on the size of the report, it may take a few minutes before you can continue.
10. Once the HTML page has loaded, you can select the table sections to be imported into Excel. Press the Yellow Box with Arrow for EACH section to be imported into Excel. Once you press the Yellow Box, it will highlight the table section. NOTE: If the report spans multiple pages, you will need to go to each page and select the table sections. 11. Once you have selected all the table sections, press the Import button to move the data into Excel. 12. Excel will open the Import Data window, with a default cell location of A1. Press OK to accept.
13. All the table sections selected above will now appear in Excel. |

When is the right time to upgrade to Microsoft SQL Server?
Many of our clients originally deployed Microsoft Dynamics NAV on the standard NAV Database. As your organization has grown in size and complexity, we recommend you consider ugrading your database to Microsoft SQL Server. SQL Server comes in two different formats, Standard and Enterprise. Enterprise edition is designed to allow larger organizations to run their server in a clustered environment. How do I decide if it's time for my organization to upgrade to SQL server? If you answer yes to any of the questions below, you may want to consider upgrading to SQL.
What are the benefits of SQL Server?
I'd like to consider moving to SQL. How do I get started? Contact AVF's IT team to set up a meeting to discuss your specific situation. If you don't have a dedicated IT department inhouse, our IT staff is available to setup and maintain your SQL server. Typically, an upgrade to SQL Standard requires one to two days of services for the initial set up and one day of services each month for server maintenance. If you have an internal IT staff, our team can work with them on set up, training and maintenance as well. For a FREE site survey or to learn more about SQL Server contact AVF's IT team at 410-296-5100 or itsupport@avfconsulting.com to schedule a consultation today. |
