RTC Showcase Comes to Chevy Chase, MD

Join AVF Consulting for a showcase of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 and the Role Tailored Client. The showcase is scheduled for June 8, 2010, at the Microsoft office in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

The event is split into two sessions: one for Serenic Navigator customers in the morning; and, an afternoon session for customers on Microsoft Dynamics NAV.  Both sessions will cover the benefits of the RTC, technology, hardware, hosting, upgrades, and the customization process. This is a great opportunity to network with peers while seeing the software in person, demonstrated by AVF's professionals.

AVF hosted a showcase in the same format on April 20. Attendees to the April showcase were particularly impressed with the streamlined view of the Role Tailored Client interface, as well as some of the functionality improvements.

Don't miss your opportunity to get a first hand look at what Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 has to offer. Click here for more information and to register.

Last Chance to Take Advantage of Microsoft's Maintenance Forgiveness Offer

The deadline to take advantage of Microsoft's maintenance forgiveness offer is just around the corner. Beginning June 1, 2010, Microsoft has mandated that all Dynamics customers be enrolled in a Business Ready Enhancement Plan when making additional license purchases on supported versions of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, LS Retail, and Serenic Navigator. This means that customers must be current on their maintenance plans for Microsoft to process any orders for additional users or modules.

Microsoft and LS Retail recognize that this policy change may cause more of a burden for customers who have been off of maintenance for a long period of time and are offering customers the chance to re-enroll for a discounted rate. Customers who re-enroll in the Business Ready Enhancement Plan by May 31, 2010, will save 50% on their back pay. Re-enrolling by May 31 will also eliminate all late and penalty fees. Please note that Serenic customers are not eligible for this promotion.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss re-enrolling in the Business Ready Enhancement plan, please contact Jeremy Fass at 410-296-5100.

AVF to Attend NGO Connection Day in Manhattan

In an effort to strengthen nonprofit organizations through information technology, Microsoft formed the Not for Profit Solution Center, a network of Microsoft Dynamics partners and Microsoft Community members focused on the needs of nonprofit organizations. Microsoft and members of the Not for Profit Solution Center collaborated to create a series of networking and educational seminars for nonprofit prospects and customers called NGO Connection Days. As a member of the Not for Profit Solution Center, we will be in attendance at the May 25 NGO Connection Day in Manhattan.

The second of a national series, the NGO Connection Day in Manhattan is specifically geared towards financial, professional, and technical executives from nonprofit organizations. The event will be held at the Microsoft office at 1290 Avenue of the Americas and is free to attend. The agenda includes breakouts, panel discussions and Microsoft Dynamics product demonstrations, as well as several keynote speakers.

NFP thought leader Dan McCormick, Author and Founder of the McCormick Group, will be the first keynote speaker. McCormick’s keynote is titled “The Power of Successful Partnerships: Building Non-Profit Capacity and Ensuring Delivery of the Mission.” The lunchtime keynote speaker will be New York City Councilwoman Christine Quinn. The afternoon session will feature multiple breakouts ranging from green IT, creating measurable results, and social media for NFPs. The day will conclude with a presentation by Andrea Taylor, Director of Community Affairs, Microsoft Corporation entitled “Unleashing Technology to Advance Social and Economic Development.”

We recommend this event for all of our nonprofit customers in the New York area.

If you would like to attend the event, register through the AVF Consulting website. You must register in advance to be eligible to attend.

Links Indicator

Microsoft Dynamics NAV allows you to link a piece of information to a specific record within NAV.  Links can be created to a document, folder, web site or other records within Microsoft Dynamics NAV.  For example, you can scan a vendor invoice and save the scanned document to a location on your network.  Then you can create a link from the purchase invoice in Microsoft Dynamics NAV to the scanned vendor invoice that was saved on the network.  Links can be attached at the document header level, line level and/or master record level.

Once a link has been attached to a record within Microsoft Dynamics NAV, the word ‘LINKS’ will appear in the bottom right corner of the status bar to let you know a link exists for the record.
